After halftime, however, momentum shifted as the Flames extended their lead with a powerful third-quarter performance scoring 20 points against the Aggies' 13. The final quarter mirrored this intensity with both teams adding over ten points to their tallies; however, it was not enough for New Mexico State to close the gap.
