Duke Blue Devils VS North Carolina State Wolfpack

The North Carolina State Wolfpack started strong, scoring 13 points in the first quarter but fell behind as the Blue Devils put up an impressive 25 points in the second quarter. Despite a valiant effort and scoring 21 points in the third quarter, which was their highest-scoring period of the game, it wasn't enough to close the gap created by Duke's consistent performance across all quarters. The home team ended with a total of 58 points.

The Wolfpack showed resilience on defense with two blocks and five steals but struggled offensively compared to their opponents. They made only three out of seven three-point attempts which translated into a three-point percentage of approximately 43 percent. Their field goal percentage stood at about 34 percent from an overall attempt of 61 shots.

In contrast, Duke showcased remarkable accuracy from beyond the arc hitting nine out of fourteen attempts resulting in an approximate three-point shooting percentage of about 64 percent. Their overall field goal percentage was higher than that of North Carolina State at around 46 percent from fifty-two attempts.

Rebounding was one area where North Carolina State held their own against Duke; they secured thirty-six rebounds over Duke's thirty-three. However, this slight edge did not translate into control over turnovers as both teams had similar numbers: eighteen for North Carolina State and seventeen for Duke.

Despite these efforts by North Carolina State players to keep up with their rivals' pace, they were unable to capitalize on opportunities as effectively as needed during crucial moments throughout this intense matchup.

Looking ahead after this tough loss at home before an audience numbering five thousand five hundred fans, The Wolfpack will be visiting Syracuse Orange next year on January second at JMA Wireless Dome located in Syracuse NY zip code:13210.
