North Texas Mean Green Set to Battle South Florida Bulls at Yuengling Center

As the North Texas Mean Green prepare to face off against the South Florida Bulls at the Yuengling Center, fans are eager for what promises to be an electrifying game of Women's Basketball. The Mean Green, coming off a mixed bag of performances, are looking to assert their dominance on the court once again.

South Florida Bulls VS North Texas Mean Green

In their last outing on December 22 against Montana State Bobcats, UNT scored 58 points but fell short as they were outscored by the Bobcats who put up 71 points. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways for UNT; they showed tenacity with 19 fast break points and a solid defense that resulted in nine steals. However, their field goal percentage stood at just under 40 percent and free throw accuracy was a concern at only 59 percent.

Contrastingly, on December 17 against Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, UNT showcased what they're capable of when firing on all cylinders. They dominated with an impressive scoreline of 71-48. Their shooting was markedly improved with a field goal percentage over 50 percent and free throws made at around three-quarters of attempts. Moreover, they controlled the paint scoring an overwhelming majority of their points there.

The most telling performance came earlier in December when UNT hosted Alcorn State Lady Braves and secured an emphatic victory with an astounding scoreline of 84-50. The team's offensive prowess was evident as they shot over half from both two-point range and overall from the field while also converting more than half their three-point attempts—a clear indicator that when UNT gets hot, they can be unstoppable.

Looking ahead to the clash with USF Bulls in Tampa—UNT must capitalize on these strengths while addressing weaknesses shown in recent games such as turnovers which have been consistently high across past games.

The upcoming match is not just another game; it is a chance for North Texas Mean Green to prove that their victories are no fluke and that setbacks like against Montana State are merely temporary stumbles.

Fans should mark their calendars for January 20th when these two teams will go head-to-head at Yuengling Center in Tampa at midnight Eastern Time (ET). While broadcast networks have not been announced yet for this game night showdown between North Texas Mean Green and South Florida Bulls—supporters can expect full coverage online or through local sports networks dedicated to women's college basketball action.
