North Texas Mean Green's Paint Domination: Enough to Secure Victory Over TCU Horned Frogs?

The North Texas Mean Green faced off against the TCU Horned Frogs in a competitive matchup that ended with the home team, the Horned Frogs, edging out a win with a final score of 67-58. The Mean Green now stand at 0-1, while the Horned Frogs have started their season at 1-0.

Their aggressive defense was also evident as they racked up an impressive total of 13 steals during the game.


North Texas dominated inside by scoring a notable 40 points in paint which underscored their tactical focus on close-range shots; however, they struggled from beyond the arc making just one three-pointer from eight attempts for a low twelve percent shooting rate from distance. Their overall field goal percentage stood at thirty-five percent with twenty-two successful shots out of sixty-three attempts.


Free throws were another area where North Texas showed competence by making thirteen out of nineteen attempts which translated into sixty-eight percent success rate from the line. They also capitalized on second-chance opportunities securing fourteen second-chance points through persistent offensive rebounding.


Player contributions were significant for North Texas as well; they distributed well among themselves totaling fourteen assists over four quarters which reflected good teamwork despite having eleven turnovers equal to player turnovers count. The Horned Frogs had an efficient night shooting fifty-nine percent from two-point range and forty-four percent from three-point land contributing significantly to their victory margin over North Texas. They also excelled at free throw line hitting seventy-one percent of their shots there while collecting eighteen assists showcasing effective ball distribution against North Texas' defense.
