Northwestern Wildcats Face Off Against Fighting Irish at Welsh-Ryan Arena

In a recent women's basketball game at Welsh-Ryan Arena, the Northwestern Wildcats faced a challenging opponent in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The home team, Northwestern, ended with a record of 0-1 after being outscored 58-92 by the ninth-ranked Fighting Irish.

From free throws, they scored ten out of twenty-two attempts resulting in an approximate success rate of only forty-six percent.


One area where Northwestern showed considerable effort was in points scored within the paint; they accumulated thirty-two points through close-range efforts. However, this was ten points shy when compared to Notre Dame's forty-six paint points.


Despite being ejected three times during play and committing twenty-six personal fouls against Notre Dame’s twenty-two fouls, Northwestern showed determination on defense but ultimately could not contain Notre Dame’s robust scoring strategy.
