The game at JMA Wireless Dome saw an impressive offensive display from both squads. The Fighting Irish came out strong with a balanced attack, scoring consistently across all quarters - posting 19 points in each of the first two and ramping up with an explosive 27 points in the third quarter before adding another solid 16 points in the final period. Despite their efforts and maintaining an even score after two quarters, they were ultimately outpaced by Syracuse.

Notre Dame's performance was marked by aggressive play on both ends of the court. They executed well on fast breaks, contributing to their total of 28 fast break points and showed dominance inside with a remarkable tally of 52 points in paint. Their shooting was efficient from close range as they made good on nearly half their two-point attempts at a rate of forty-six percent and were perfect from the free-throw line.

Defensively, Notre Dame also made its presence felt with five blocks and an impressive seventeen steals which helped them score twenty-four points off turnovers. However, ball control proved challenging for them as they turned over possession twenty-four times during play.

On individual performances for Notre Dame: every player who stepped onto the court contributed to their seventeen assists; however, this was offset by twenty-three player turnovers leading to an assist-turnover ratio below one (0.74). Rebounding was another area where they showed tenacity grabbing thirty-three rebounds including ten offensive boards which led to ten second-chance points.

Syracuse's home advantage seemed palpable as they managed to secure more rebounds (45) than Notre Dame and capitalized on turnovers better than their opponents did – scoring thirty points off turnovers compared to Notre Dame’s twenty-four. Their shooting accuracy slightly edged out that of Notre Dame’s at forty-eight percent from field goals overall including thirty-five percent from beyond three-point range.
