From tip-off to final buzzer, the Fighting Irish controlled the game with a combination of aggressive defense and efficient scoring. A pivotal moment came in the second quarter when Notre Dame extended their lead significantly by outscoring Miami by 14 points, which set up a comfortable margin that would last throughout the contest.

Notre Dame's defensive efforts were particularly noteworthy as they racked up an impressive total of 15 steals and five blocks. This stifling defense led to numerous fast-break opportunities that culminated in 16 fast break points for Notre Dame. Furthermore, their ability to capitalize on turnovers was evident as they scored a remarkable total of 31 points off turnovers.

Offensively, Notre Dame's performance from beyond the arc was commendable with a three-point shooting percentage of 38 percent. Their free throw accuracy was also exceptional at an astounding rate of 86 percent which contributed significantly to maintaining their lead over Miami.

The Hurricanes struggled against Notre Dame's relentless pressure but managed some resistance in terms of rebounding where both teams grabbed an equal number of rebounds at 41 each. However, Miami's field goal percentage stood at just 41 percent compared to Notre Dame’s equally modest rate but slightly better efficiency overall.

Miami did show resilience in personal rebounding with a tally of 38 compared to Notre Dame’s count at only slightly lower than theirs. They also fought valiantly in paint scoring where they edged out with six more points than their opponents totaling at thirty-two points inside.
