The Notre Dame Fighting Irish set the tone early on at Hank McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, outscoring their opponents by a staggering nineteen points in the first quarter alone. The offensive onslaught was relentless as they racked up twenty-eight points to Georgia Tech's nine. The second quarter saw a slight dip in scoring for the Irish with eighteen points; however, their defense held strong limiting Georgia Tech to just eight.

After halftime, Notre Dame continued to showcase their superiority on both ends of the court. They added another twenty-three points during the third quarter and finished strong with sixteen in the fourth. Their shooting was efficient throughout; they achieved a sixty percent success rate from two-point range and fifty-two percent overall from field goals.

Notre Dame's defensive prowess was equally notable as they amassed seven blocks and twelve steals over four quarters of play. This defensive pressure contributed significantly to twenty-one points off turnovers for Notre Dame compared to only three for Georgia Tech.

The team also excelled under pressure making nine out of thirteen free throws which rounded off to sixty-nine percent accuracy from the line. Their control under both baskets was evident as they grabbed forty-six rebounds – forty personal and six team rebounds – which included thirty-two defensively and fourteen offensively.

A key aspect of Notre Dame’s game plan seemed centered around capitalizing on fast breaks where they scored twenty-one fast break points while holding Georgia Tech to eighteen. Additionally, their ball movement created numerous scoring opportunities leading to twenty assists over four quarters.

Georgia Tech struggled throughout against Notre Dame’s robust defense managing only eighteen field goals from seventy-one attempts resulting in a mere twenty-five percent shooting accuracy. From beyond the arc, they fared even worse hitting just six out of thirty-four attempts translating into eighteen percent from three-point land.

Despite grabbing more offensive rebounds than Notre Dame (seventeen versus eight), it wasn't enough for Georgia Tech as they were unable to convert these chances into significant scoreboard impact due largely to seventeen turnovers which stifled many potential rallies before they could gain momentum.

Looking ahead after this commanding performance on enemy territory, fans can anticipate seeing more action-packed basketball when Notre Dame hosts Pittsburgh Panthers at Purcell Pavilion located in South Bend, Indiana on February 4th at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.
