Clash at Lloyd Noble Center: Oklahoma Sooners Host Southern University Jaguars in Women's Basketball Showdown

As the Oklahoma Sooners prepare to host the Southern University Jaguars at the Lloyd Noble Center, fans are eager to see if their team can bounce back from a recent defeat. The Sooners' performance on December 9 against the Lady Rebels revealed some cracks in their armor, particularly in their ability to maintain a lead and close out games. Despite putting up an impressive 76 points, they fell short against UNLV's staggering 92 points.

Southern University Jaguars VS Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners showed promise with a tenacious defense that resulted in 10 steals and three blocks. Their offensive effort was led by strong assists numbers, totaling 22 for the game. However, shooting proved problematic; while they maintained a solid two-point percentage of 55 percent, their three-point attempts lagged behind at just 29 percent success rate. Free throws were another area of concern; converting only about half of those opportunities is something that will need improvement moving forward.

In contrast, during their December 2 matchup with Grambling State Lady Tigers, OKLA demonstrated what they're capable of when firing on all cylinders. They dominated with an overwhelming scoreline of 103-69. Their rebounding was exceptional as they grabbed a total of 61 rebounds – showing both tenacity and control under the basket.

Looking ahead to the upcoming game against SOU, it's clear that OKLA must capitalize on its strengths while addressing weaknesses exposed in past performances. The Jaguars will come into this game looking to exploit any lapses in concentration or execution by OKLA.

The key for OKLA lies within their ability to maintain consistency throughout all four quarters – something that has been elusive for them recently. If they can harness the same energy and precision shown against Grambling State while tightening up free throw accuracy and long-range shooting, there is every reason to believe that victory could be theirs.

Fans should mark their calendars for December 22nd at 6:00 PM when these two teams face off at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. With no broadcast networks announced yet for live coverage, attending in person might be the best way for fans to catch all the action live as it unfolds on court.
