Oklahoma Sooners Host Southern University Jaguars at Lloyd Noble Center in Women's Basketball Showdown

As the Oklahoma Sooners prepare to welcome the Southern University Jaguars to the Lloyd Noble Center for an exciting women's basketball game, fans are eager to see if the home team can capitalize on their venue advantage. The game is set to be a thrilling encounter as both teams vie for victory.

Southern University Jaguars VS Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners have had a mixed bag of performances in their recent outings. In their last game against the Lady Rebels, despite a strong start with 25 points in the first quarter, they couldn't maintain momentum and fell short with 76 points against their opponent's 92. Their shooting from beyond the arc was less than stellar at 29 percent, and they struggled from the free-throw line with only 46 percent accuracy.

However, looking back two games prior against Grambling State's Lady Tigers, Oklahoma showed what they are capable of when firing on all cylinders. Dominating throughout, they put up an impressive 103 points while shooting nearly 47 percent from field goals and an improved three-point percentage of nearly 38 percent. Their rebounding was particularly noteworthy as they hauled down a total of 61 rebounds.

In contrast to these fluctuating performances was a tight contest against Tennessee’s Lady Volunteers where Oklahoma narrowly lost by three points. Despite this loss, there were positives; notably their fast break points tallying up to an impressive 31 and maintaining a decent assist-to-turnover ratio of over one.

The upcoming match promises excitement as fans anticipate whether Oklahoma can leverage its home court advantage at Lloyd Noble Center—a venue known for its vibrant atmosphere that often acts as a sixth player for the home side.

Fans should expect an energetic contest where rebounding prowess and shooting efficiency will likely be key factors in determining success for Oklahoma. With recent games showing both vulnerabilities and strengths, it will be interesting to see which version of the team shows up come game day.

Mark your calendars for December 22nd at six o'clock in Norman’s own Lloyd Noble Center or tune into local broadcasts to catch all live-action as it unfolds between these two competitive squads.
