In a closely contested conference game, the Oklahoma Sooners emerged victorious over the Oklahoma State Cowgirls with a final score of 97-93. The match saw both teams display remarkable offensive skills, but it was the home team that clinched the win.

Oklahoma Sooners VS Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Lloyd Noble Center in Norman was buzzing with excitement as fans witnessed an intense battle between two determined teams. The Oklahoma Sooners started strong, outscoring their opponents 19-15 in the first quarter and maintaining their lead throughout most of the game. Their offense was particularly effective, boasting a field goal percentage of 50 and converting nine out of nineteen three-point attempts into a stellar 47 percent success rate from beyond the arc.

The Sooners' performance inside was just as dominant, scoring 40 points in paint compared to the Cowgirls' 28. Free throws were also crucial for Oklahoma; they made good on nearly 84 percent of their attempts from the line by sinking 26 free throws. This sharpshooting proved essential in keeping them ahead despite numerous lead changes and times when both teams were tied.

Defensively, both teams managed six steals each; however, it was Oklahoma's ability to capitalize on turnovers that gave them an edge. They scored sixteen points off turnovers while only giving up fifteen to their rivals from Stillwater.

The Cowgirls put up a valiant effort against their ranked opponents. Their three-point shooting kept them within striking distance throughout all four quarters as they hit fourteen threes at a commendable rate of nearly 38 percent accuracy. Second-chance points were also significant for them with eighteen compared to nine by Oklahoma.

Despite trailing behind after each quarter—15-19 after one, then adding another thirty-three before halftime—the visitors fought back fiercely but couldn't overcome Oklahoma's consistent scoring across all four quarters: nineteen first-quarter points followed by twenty-one before halftime break then twenty-eight and finally twenty-nine in subsequent periods respectively.

As fans look forward to more action-packed games from their beloved team, they can mark their calendars for when the Oklahoma Sooners take on Texas Longhorns at Moody Center located in Austin on January 25th at seven PM Central Time. This upcoming game will be broadcasted live on LHN channel six hundred seventy-seven where supporters can tune in to cheer for their team once again.
