Sooners Set to Defend Home Court Against State Rivals Cowgirls

As the Oklahoma Sooners prepare to host the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at the Lloyd Noble Center, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The Sooners, coming off a strong performance against the Iowa State Cyclones on February 11th with an 86-72 victory, are looking to continue their winning ways.

Oklahoma Sooners VS Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Sooners' recent form has been nothing short of impressive. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they racked up points with a field goal percentage of 46 and an even more impressive three-point percentage of 39. With such shooting efficiency, it's clear that OKLA has found a rhythm that could spell trouble for any defense. Moreover, their ability to share the ball was evident with 25 assists in their last game, showcasing a team-first mentality that is often the hallmark of championship contenders.

Defensively, OKLA has shown they can be disruptors on the court. With 12 steals against both Iowa State and TCU Horned Frogs earlier this month, they've proven their capability to turn defense into offense quickly – capitalizing with points off turnovers.

However, it would be remiss not to consider the tenacity of the Cowgirls who have shown resilience in past games. In their last meeting on February 3rd at Gallagher-Iba Arena where OKST fell short by seven points in an intense battle ending at 81-74 for OKLA, both teams demonstrated why this rivalry is one of the most exciting in college sports.

The Cowgirls' ability to score inside was evident as they amassed 40 points in paint compared to OKLA's 36 during that game. This inside presence combined with fast break scoring could pose challenges for Oklahoma if not addressed properly.

Looking ahead at what's coming on February 24th at precisely 1:00 PM local time in Norman; fans should expect nothing less than another chapter added to this storied rivalry. The Sooners will need every ounce of home-court advantage provided by Lloyd Noble Center faithfuls if they wish to emerge victorious once more.

For those unable or unwilling to miss out on witnessing history unfold – tune into your local sports network or stream online as these two teams clash once again in what promises not just entertainment but also bragging rights within state lines until they meet again.
