Cowgirls Set to Wrangle Horned Frogs in Fort Worth Showdown

As the Oklahoma State Cowgirls prepare to face off against the TCU Horned Frogs at Schollmaier Arena, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting contest. The Cowgirls, coming off a series of varied performances, are looking to establish consistency and dominance on the court.

TCU Horned Frogs VS Oklahoma State Cowgirls

In their last outing on January 3rd against UCF Knights, OKST displayed a commendable effort that resulted in a 68-61 victory. Their scoring was spread evenly across the quarters with an impressive surge in the final period where they racked up 26 points. This ability to finish strong could be pivotal against TCU. With an overall field goal percentage of 41 and free throw percentage at 69, there's room for improvement but it's their tenacity on defense that caught attention—7 steals and a solid rebounding performance with 34 boards.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for OKST. On December 30th against Iowa State Cyclones at Gallagher-Iba Arena, despite an energetic home crowd of 2770 fans cheering them on, they fell short by eight points in a high-scoring affair ending at 76-68. The Cowgirls managed to force turnovers effectively leading to 25 points off those opportunities—a testament to their aggressive defensive play which will be crucial when facing TCU.

The game before that saw OKST travel out-of-conference where they narrowly lost by seven points (70-63) against Oregon Ducks on December 21st. Despite this loss at Burns Arena—a neutral site—the Cowgirls showcased resilience particularly from beyond the arc hitting eight three-pointers.

Looking ahead, one can't help but feel optimistic about Oklahoma State's chances given their recent form and fighting spirit. They've shown they can compete both offensively and defensively; however consistency is key if they're aiming for success in Fort Worth.

TCU Horned Frogs will not make it easy though; as hosts they'll have home-court advantage and undoubtedly look to capitalize on any slip-ups made by OKST. It’s imperative that Oklahoma State maintains focus throughout all four quarters while also tightening up their shooting accuracy from both field goals and free throws if they wish to leave Texas victorious.

The stage is set for January 6th at Schollmaier Arena where tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM local time (5:00 PM EST). Fans eager not to miss this clash can catch all the action live via ESPN+ online broadcast network—mark your calendars for what promises to be an enthralling encounter between two determined teams vying for supremacy on the court.
