The Oklahoma State Cowgirls now stand at 0-1 after a hard-fought game against the Houston Cougars, who improved their record to 1-0. The final score read 65-57 in favor of the visiting team.

Houston Cougars VS Oklahoma State Cowboys

In an intense matchup at Gallagher-Iba Arena, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls displayed commendable effort but ultimately fell short against the Cougars. The home team's performance was highlighted by their ability to distribute the ball, as evidenced by their 16 assists. Despite this, they struggled with ball control, turning it over 16 times throughout the contest.

The Cowgirls shot with moderate accuracy from both inside and beyond the arc, hitting 44 percent of their two-point attempts and maintaining a three-point shooting percentage of 37. They were also efficient from the free-throw line with a solid completion rate of 75 percent. However, they only made it to the line four times during the entire game.

On defense, Oklahoma State managed to block two shots and steal possession three times. Their rebounding efforts resulted in gathering a total of 34 rebounds – six being on offense – which was just shy of Houston's total rebound count at 38.

Houston capitalized on turnovers scoring twelve points off them and showed strength in fast-break situations with fourteen fast-break points. Their shooting percentages were close to that of Oklahoma State's: field goals at 39 percent overall; however, they took more attempts from downtown finishing with eleven made three-pointers out of thirty for a percentage rounded up to 37.

The Cougars' defensive pressure forced numerous turnovers leading them to have an assist-to-turnover ratio slightly better than that of Oklahoma State's at approximately one point eighteen compared to one even for OKST.

As fans look ahead after this tough loss for Oklahoma State Cowgirls basketball team, there is another opportunity for redemption on deck as they prepare for their next challenge against UCF Knights. This upcoming game is scheduled for February twenty-first at six-thirty PM local time back here in Stillwater’s Gallagher-Iba Arena where fans can catch all live action unfold.
