Can the Ole Miss Rebels Dominate Texas A&M Aggies at The Pavilion?

As the Ole Miss Rebels gear up to face the Texas A&M Aggies, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting encounter at The Pavilion at Ole Miss. With a recent string of performances that have both impressed and raised questions, the Rebels are at an intriguing crossroads in their season.

Texas A&M Aggies VS Ole Miss Rebels

The last time the Rebels took to the court on December 21 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, they secured a comfortable 62-47 victory. Their defensive prowess was on full display as they racked up an impressive nine blocks and matched that number in steals and assists. The team's ability to convert defense into offense was evident with 17 fast break points. However, their shooting from beyond the arc left much to be desired, hitting only 14 percent from three-point range.

Earlier on December 19 against South Alabama Jaguars, despite winning with a score of 64-41, similar issues persisted; their three-point shooting was slightly better at 28 percent but still below what one might expect from a leading team. Nevertheless, they dominated second-chance points with an overwhelming margin of 24 compared to Jaguars' six.

The most telling game came on December 13 when they faced Mississippi Valley State Devilettes right here at The Pavilion. It was an offensive clinic by MISS as they put up a season-high of 84 points while maintaining defensive intensity with an astounding total of fourteen blocks. They shot over half their two-point attempts successfully (52 percent) and capitalized heavily on turnovers scoring twenty-three points off them.

While these games highlight areas for improvement—particularly long-range shooting—the Rebels have shown that they can control games through tenacious defense and efficient scoring inside the paint.

TXAM is no pushover though; coming into this game, they will look to exploit any lapses in MISS's perimeter defense while being wary of their own ball handling against such aggressive stealers like MISS has proven themselves to be.

Fans should expect another strong showing from MISS who will likely leverage their home-court advantage and aim for high percentage shots while tightening up defensively around the arc against TXAM's shooters.

The upcoming clash is scheduled for February 9th at The Pavilion in Oxford with tip-off set for just after sunset local time (6:30 PM CST). For those unable to attend in person, you can catch all the action live where it will be broadcasted for eager fans following along from home or wherever you may find yourself cheering on your beloved Rebels!
