Oregon State Beavers Dominate at Gill Coliseum in Women's Basketball Showdown

The Oregon State Beavers emerged victorious with a commanding 80-52 win over the Santa Clara Broncos at Gill Coliseum. The home team's season record now stands impressively at 1-0, while the visiting Broncos fall to 0-1.

Oregon State Beavers VS Idaho State Bengals

In a display of offensive efficiency, the Oregon State Beavers showcased their dominance on their home court. The team shot an impressive 51 percent from the field and an exceptional 61 percent on two-point attempts. Their scoring was consistent throughout the game, with point contributions of 21, 17, 20, and finally capping off with a strong fourth quarter of 22 points.

The Beavers' defense was equally formidable; they amassed seven blocks and four steals during the contest. This defensive effort contributed to limiting the Broncos to just a mere seven fast break points and only five three-pointers made out of twenty-two attempts—a lowly shooting percentage of about 23 percent from beyond the arc.

On top of that, Oregon State excelled in ball distribution as evidenced by their twenty-two assists which played a significant role in their offensive flow. They also capitalized on second-chance opportunities by scoring thirteen points following offensive rebounds.

The Santa Clara Broncos struggled to find their rhythm offensively throughout the game. Despite making all seven free throw attempts, they were stifled by Oregon State's defense which held them to just under twenty-seven percent shooting from the field overall. The Broncos managed only nine steals and ten assists compared to fifteen turnovers—an assist-to-turnover ratio that reflected challenges in maintaining possession against an aggressive Beaver defense.

Rebounding was another area where Oregon State showed superiority with fifty-six total rebounds compared to Santa Clara's thirty-one. This included forty defensive boards for Oregon State which helped limit Santa Clara’s scoring chances significantly.

As fans look ahead, they can anticipate watching their team again when the Oregon State Beavers host Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions at Seabury Hall in Makawao on December 19th at approximately midnight local time (5:30 PM UTC). While no broadcast networks have been announced for this matchup yet, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for future announcements regarding where they can catch live action as it unfolds.
