Can Oregon State University Overcome Colorado Buffaloes' Challenge in Double Overtime?

In a hard-fought contest that required two overtime periods to resolve, the Oregon State Beavers emerged victorious over the Colorado Buffaloes with a final score of 85-79. The Beavers now stand at 13-18, while the Buffaloes hold a record of 18-13.

The game, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, was marked by intense competition and shifting momentum. The Oregon State Beavers began with a slower pace in the first quarter, scoring only 10 points compared to the Buffaloes' 17. However, as the game progressed into subsequent quarters and overtimes, they found their rhythm and outscored their opponents significantly in double overtime.


The Beavers showcased their resilience and teamwork throughout this challenging matchup. With an impressive field goal percentage of 42 percent from both teams and free throw accuracy tipping slightly in favor of Oregon State at 78 percent compared to Colorado's 74 percent, it was clear that precision played a key role in this encounter.


Oregon State's defensive efforts were highlighted by six blocks against Colorado's two and seven steals apiece for both teams. On offense, they managed to convert these opportunities into points off turnovers totaling 17 for Oregon State against Colorado's ten.


The rebounding battle was also crucial; Oregon State dominated with a total of 47 rebounds versus Colorado's tally of 37. This included seven offensive rebounds for the home team contributing to eight second-chance points. Furthermore, they capitalized on their presence inside with an impressive total of 44 points scored in the paint.


Assists were another area where Oregon State excelled; they distributed well among teammates leading to nineteen assists overall which resulted in an assists turnover ratio of about two (1.9), better than that of Colorado who had sixteen assists leading to an assists turnover ratio just above one (1.23).
