Clash at Petersen Events Center: Pittsburgh Panthers to Face Syracuse Orange

As the Pittsburgh Panthers prepare to host the Syracuse Orange at the Petersen Events Center, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying matchup. The Panthers, coming off a mixed bag of performances, have shown they can be both unpredictable and formidable on their home court.

Syracuse Orange VS Pittsburgh Panthers

In their last game on December 20 against the Georgia Lady Bulldogs, the Panthers fell short despite a valiant effort. Scoring 59 points with a field goal percentage of just 30 percent and a three-point percentage of 29 percent, it was clear that shooting accuracy was an issue. However, they managed to keep turnovers relatively low at 13 and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 20 points off them.

The game before that saw the Panthers in better form against Ball State Cardinals on December 19. They scored more efficiently with a field goal percentage of around 45 percent but still lost by a narrow margin of 62-73. Their two-point shots were particularly effective at over 52 percent success rate.

However, it's worth noting that when playing at home earlier in December against Lehigh Mountain Hawks, the Pittsburgh team put up an impressive performance with a high-scoring victory of 94-82. Their field goal percentage was nearly identical to their two-point shot success rate from their previous home game – both hovering around the high forties – showcasing their potential when playing in familiar territory.

The upcoming game against Syracuse is expected to test Pittsburgh's resilience and ability to bounce back from recent setbacks. The key for PITT will be maintaining strong defense while improving shot selection and execution – areas where they've struggled recently but have also shown capacity for excellence as seen in their triumph over Lehigh.

Syracuse Orange will not make it easy; they bring their own set of skills and strategies that could challenge PITT's defense. It will be crucial for PITT players like those who contributed significantly in past games - through assists or rebounds - to step up once again if they hope to secure victory on home soil.

Fans should mark January 21st on their calendars as this encounter promises intensity and competition worthy of NCAA Women's Basketball excitement. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM local time (Pittsburgh) at Petersen Events Center without any broadcast networks listed yet; however, fans can stay updated through local sports news outlets or university channels for any changes regarding where they can watch this thrilling face-off unfold.
