Pittsburgh Panthers VS Miami (FL) Hurricanes

The game at Watsco Center saw the Panthers struggle to find their rhythm in scoring. Despite putting up a valiant effort in the third quarter where they scored 21 points, it was not enough to overcome the consistent performance of the Hurricanes who outscored them in every quarter. The Panthers' shooting accuracy was below par, with field goal and two-point percentages settling at 29 percent and 31 percent respectively. They were more successful from the free-throw line, achieving an impressive 83 percent accuracy but only had six attempts throughout the game.

On defense, Pittsburgh managed to secure seven steals and one block but this defensive effort could not compensate for their offensive struggles. The team also gathered an impressive total of 43 rebounds; however, turnovers were a significant issue as they gave up possession on 22 occasions which led to nine points for Miami (FL).

One bright spot for Pittsburgh was their second-chance points tallying at 17 due to their offensive rebounding efforts which accounted for fifteen grabs off the glass. Additionally, they capitalized on points in paint scoring a total of 28.

Conversely, Miami (FL) showcased strong play across both ends of the court. Their defense racked up seven blocks and eleven steals contributing to eighteen points off turnovers. Offensively they were more efficient than Pittsburgh with field goal percentages standing at an effective rate of 42 percent from all ranges including an outstanding three-point percentage of approximately 44 percent.
