Rice Owls Set to Challenge Tulane Green Wave at Devlin Fieldhouse

As the Rice Owls prepare to face off against the Tulane Green Wave at Devlin Fieldhouse, fans are eager for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The Owls have shown a pattern of strong starts and finishes in their games, which could be pivotal in their upcoming match.

Tulane Green Wave VS Rice Owls

In their last game on December 20 against the Houston Cougars, despite a valiant effort, the Owls fell short with a final score of 63-71. The statistics reveal that they struggled with turnovers, committing 21 in total which translated into 9 points off turnovers for the Cougars. Their field goal percentage was low at just 35 percent and from beyond the arc they shot only 21 percent. However, one shining aspect was their free throw accuracy sitting at an impressive 87 percent.

Earlier on December 16 against Prairie View A&M Panthers, RICE showcased what they are capable of when things click into place. They dominated with an astounding victory scoring 85 points while holding PV to just 59 points. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they shot over 42 percent from both two-point and three-point range while maintaining that same high free throw percentage (87 percent). Moreover, they capitalized on turnovers scoring a remarkable number of points (24) off PV's mistakes.

Against Gonzaga Bulldogs on December 9 though ranked No.23 at that time, RICE proved competitive but ultimately lost by eight points (72-80). They excelled in paint scoring where they racked up nearly two-thirds of their total points (48 out of 72), demonstrating an ability to penetrate defenses effectively.

Looking ahead to January's game against TULN, it is evident that if RICE can control ball possession better and maintain defensive pressure without fouling excessively – as seen by their lower personal foul count compared to previous games – there is potential for success.

The key will be whether or not RICE can replicate its high-scoring offense witnessed against PV while tightening up defensively as seen in past performances this season. Fans should expect them to come out strong based on previous first-quarter performances and look for them to close out with similar intensity.

The scheduled date for this anticipated matchup is January 20th at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans starting at an evening tip-off time slated for local fans' convenience. For those unable to attend in person but wishing not miss any action-packed moments between these formidable opponents; unfortunately no broadcast networks have been announced yet so stay tuned for updates regarding viewing options closer game day!
