Can the Rice Owls Blaze Past UAB at Dickies Arena?

As the Rice Owls prepare to face off against the UAB Blazers at Dickies Arena, fans are eager to see if their team can bounce back from recent setbacks. The Owls have shown a mix of resilience and vulnerability in their past games, which could be pivotal in determining the outcome of this crucial matchup.

Rice Owls VS UAB Blazers

In their last game on March 6th against UTSA Roadrunners, the Owls scored 52 points but fell short as they allowed 60 points. Despite a strong fourth quarter where they put up 22 points, it wasn't enough to secure a win. Their shooting was lackluster with an overall field goal percentage of just 30 percent and an even more concerning three-point percentage of 11 percent. However, they excelled at free throws with a commendable 78 percent completion rate.

The rebounding department was one area where RICE showed promise; grabbing a total of 41 rebounds is no small feat. Yet, turnovers were a glaring issue as they committed 16 throughout the game – an aspect that will need tightening up against UAB.

Looking back further to March 2nd when RICE hosted North Texas Mean Green, there was another tough loss despite home-court advantage. The final score read Rice Owls:54 - North Texas Mean Green:63. Although steals were high for RICE at an impressive count of 14 and assists matched those by North Texas at 15 each, it wasn't enough to overcome their opponent's superior shooting accuracy.

A glimmer of hope shone through during their February 25th encounter with Temple Owls where RICE emerged victorious with a scoreline reading Rice Owls:66 - Temple Owls:75. This game highlighted what RICE is capable of when firing on all cylinders – particularly from beyond the arc where they hit at a rate of about one out every five attempts.

The upcoming clash with UAB Blazers will demand that RICE brings its A-game in all aspects – shooting accuracy must improve significantly from both inside and outside the paint if they wish to stand any chance against UAB's defense. Rebounding prowess needs to be maintained while reducing turnovers drastically; only then can there be hope for victory.

Rice fans should mark their calendars for March 10th when these two teams lock horns at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX starting from exactly six o'clock in the evening local time (Central Time). It promises to be an intense battle that supporters can witness live or tune into via broadcast channels covering this exciting event.
