Stonehill Skyhawks VS Rutgers Scarlet Knights

The game held at Jersey Mike's Arena saw the Rutgers Scarlet Knights take control from the outset. Despite a slower start with only 16 points in the first quarter compared to Delaware State Hornets' 20, they quickly turned things around in the second quarter by adding another 25 points to their tally. The momentum continued after halftime as they scored an additional 23 and finished strong with 18 points in the fourth quarter.

The Scarlet Knights showcased superior shooting accuracy throughout the game, hitting over half of their field goal attempts with a shooting percentage of approximately 52 percent. Their prowess was even more evident inside where they converted about two-thirds of their two-point attempts. From beyond the arc, they made eight three-pointers on an approximate shooting rate of 31 percent.

Defensively, Rutgers was just as dominant. They amassed a total of twelve blocks and fourteen steals which contributed significantly to their victory margin. The team also excelled in ball distribution with twenty assists and maintained better control over turnovers than their opponents.

On top of that, rebounding was another area where Rutgers stood out; pulling down forty-six rebounds – twenty-nine defensive and thirteen offensive – which played a crucial role in securing second-chance opportunities that led to nineteen second-chance points.

Delaware State Hornets struggled against this formidable defense, managing only five blocks and thirteen steals themselves while turning over possession twenty times throughout the game. Their field goal percentage sat at approximately thirty percent for both two-pointers and three-pointers combined.

Despite these challenges, Delaware State did manage some success inside by scoring twenty-six points in paint but ultimately fell short against Rutgers' robust defense and efficient offense.

Looking ahead for fans eager to support their team once again: The next challenge for Rutgers will be against Lafayette Leopards at Jersey Mike's Arena on December first at seven PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch all live action from Piscataway without any broadcast networks covering this event.
