The Rutgers Scarlet Knights, with a record of 0-0, faced off against the Wisconsin Badgers, also at 0-0. The final score read 73-62 in favor of the home team.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights VS Wisconsin Badgers

In a hard-fought battle at the Kohl Center, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights fell short against the Wisconsin Badgers. The game began with a slow start for Rutgers as they managed only three points in the opening quarter while Wisconsin capitalized with twenty-two. However, as the game progressed, Rutgers found their rhythm and fought back valiantly.

The second quarter saw an improved performance from Rutgers as they put up nineteen points to Wisconsin's fifteen. Despite this effort, it was not enough to close down on their opponent's lead. Moving into halftime, both teams regrouped and came out looking to assert dominance.

Rutgers continued their pursuit in the third quarter adding fourteen more points but still trailed behind as Wisconsin scored sixteen. It was in the final quarter that Rutgers showed true grit by scoring twenty-six points; however, it was too little too late against a consistent Badger side that added another twenty points to secure their victory.

Statistically speaking for Rutgers: field goals were made at a rate of thirty-six percent from fifty-nine attempts; free throws were notably better with seventy-six percent accuracy from twenty-one attempts; two-point shots struggled somewhat at thirty-five percent from forty-eight attempts; and three-pointers were converted at thirty-six percent from eleven attempts.

Defensively speaking for Rutgers: seven steals were recorded alongside two blocks while managing to pull down thirty-three rebounds—twenty-three defensive and nine offensive ones—and forcing nineteen turnovers on Wisconsin which led directly to nineteen points off turnovers for them.

On offense: twelve assists were distributed among players indicating some teamwork despite falling short on overall execution compared to eighteen assists by Wisconsin. Points in paint stood equal for both teams at thirty each showing an evenly matched inside game but second-chance opportunities favored Wisconsin who scored fourteen second-chance points over ten by Rutgers due largely to their higher number of offensive rebounds (twelve).
