Clash at Bernard Johnson Coliseum: Sam Houston State Bearkats vs Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in Women's Basketball Showdown

As the Sam Houston State Bearkats prepare to host the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Bernard Johnson Coliseum, fans are eager for what promises to be a riveting encounter in women's basketball. The Bearkats have shown a tenacious spirit in their recent games, and this upcoming match is an opportunity to channel that energy into a victory on their home court.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders VS Sam Houston State Bearkats

The Bearkats' performance has been marked by impressive defensive plays, with 10 steals recorded in each of their last three games. This defensive prowess will be crucial against the Blue Raiders. However, there is room for improvement on offense; shooting accuracy has been a concern as evidenced by field goal percentages hovering around 30 percent across recent matches. On December 21st against Utah Valley Wolverines, SHSU struggled with field goals, making only 23.9 percent of attempts and losing narrowly with a score of 69-73 after pushing the game into overtime.

Despite these challenges, SHSU has demonstrated resilience and an ability to capitalize on turnovers – scoring 22 points off turnovers against the Wolverines and an even more impressive 30 points against Texas-Arlington Mavericks on December 16th. Their rebounding ability also stands out with totals like the remarkable 49 rebounds grabbed during that nail-biter against Utah Valley.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will not make it easy for them though. They bring their own set of skills to Huntsville which could pose problems for SHSU if not addressed properly before game day.

Looking ahead to January 13th at Bernard Johnson Coliseum scheduled for an evening tip-off at 3 PM CST (local time), fans should expect SHSU to leverage their home-court advantage and focus on improving shot selection and offensive schemes. If they can enhance their field goal percentage while maintaining strong defense and rebounding efforts, they stand a good chance of securing a win.

Bearkat supporters can catch all the action from this exciting matchup live as both teams vie for dominance on the court – don't miss out!
