Cardinal Effort Falls Short Against Buffaloes in Boulder Showdown

71-59 was the final score as the Stanford Cardinal, ranked 8th, faced off against the 5th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes at the CU Events Center. The Cardinal now stand with a record of 0-1, while the Buffaloes have taken their first victory of the season.

Stanford's offense struggled to find its rhythm throughout, shooting at a modest rate from both inside and outside the arc. On a positive note for Stanford fans, free throw accuracy was impeccable; all ten attempts from the charity stripe were successful.


The rebounding effort by Stanford was noteworthy; they secured forty-two rebounds in total – twenty-six defensive and fifteen offensive – showcasing their ability to maintain possession and create second-chance opportunities that resulted in twelve additional points.


Despite these efforts by Stanford players who turned over possession eighteen times compared to eleven by Colorado – it proved costly as Colorado capitalized on these mistakes scoring twenty-eight points off turnovers compared to eleven by Stanford.
