First Quarter


The game began with the Cardinal taking an early lead, scoring 19 points in the first quarter compared to Cal's 9. Lara Somfai led Stanford with her strong presence on both ends of the court, contributing significantly to their initial advantage.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, however, Cal responded fiercely by putting up 25 points against Stanford’s 15. The Golden Bears capitalized on their opportunities in the paint and increased their shooting efficiency. This shift allowed them to close the gap and take a narrow lead into halftime.


Third Quarter


The third quarter saw both teams battling intensely as they exchanged baskets. Despite Chloe Clardy’s efforts for Stanford—scoring crucial points and making defensive plays—the Golden Bears maintained their momentum by outscoring Stanford again with an additional three-point margin.


Fourth Quarter


Stanford attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter but struggled against Cal’s defense which limited them to just 17 points while scoring only one less themselves. Overtime
