Syracuse Orange Clinch Victory at JMA Wireless Dome in Women's Basketball Showdown

From the outset, it was clear that this would be a closely contested match. The first quarter saw the Big Red slightly ahead with 15 points to Syracuse's 14. However, as play progressed into the second quarter, both teams ramped up their efforts on court with Syracuse adding another 15 points to their score and Cornell pushing ahead with 22 points.


The turning point came after halftime when Syracuse began to find their rhythm. In an impressive third-quarter performance, they outscored Cornell by scoring 20 points against their opponent's 17. This momentum carried into the final quarter where Syracuse dominated by adding a substantial 29 points to their total while holding Cornell to another set of 17 points.


Key players for Syracuse made significant contributions throughout the game. Their defense was particularly effective; they managed five blocks and ten steals which disrupted Cornell’s offensive flow. On offense, they were able to capitalize on fast breaks scoring an impressive total of 19 fast break points.


Syracuse also showed proficiency from beyond the arc hitting seven three-pointers at a rate of about thirty-three percent accuracy. They were equally aggressive in drawing fouls and capitalized on these opportunities by making twenty-three free throws out of thirty-one attempts for roughly seventy-four percent accuracy.


Cornell put up a valiant effort despite falling short on this occasion. They excelled inside scoring forty points in paint and had seventeen assists showcasing good ball movement against Syracuse’s defense but struggled with turnovers giving away eighteen possessions which translated into seventeen points for Syracuse.
