From the opening quarter, the Syracuse Orange set a high tempo for the game, scoring 26 points against just 6 from their opponents. Their offensive efforts were matched by a strong defense that limited St. Francis to only 9 points in the second quarter while adding another 19 to their tally. By halftime, it was clear that Syracuse had taken control of the game.

The dominance continued throughout as Syracuse scored consistently in both halves with 16 and 24 points in third and fourth quarters respectively. The home team showcased an efficient shooting performance from inside and beyond the arc with field goal percentages of approximately 42 percent overall and about 33 percent from three-point range.

The Orange excelled not only offensively but also on defense where they amassed a total of five blocks and eleven steals contributing to seventeen turnovers by St. Francis Red Flash. This defensive pressure allowed them to capitalize on mistakes made by St. Francis converting them into twelve points off turnovers.

On top of that, Syracuse was dominant on both ends of rebounding pulling down an impressive total of fifty-nine rebounds compared to thirty-seven by their opponents which included twenty-one offensive boards leading to twenty-two second-chance points for Syracuse.
