Syracuse Orange Stumble at Greensboro Coliseum Against North Carolina State Wolfpack
In a recent face-off at the Greensboro Coliseum, the Syracuse Orange fell to the North Carolina State Wolfpack with a final score of 83-58. The Orange's season record now stands at 0-1, while the Wolfpack advances with a 1-0 record.
The game saw the Syracuse Orange struggle to find their rhythm against a formidable North Carolina State team. Despite their efforts, Syracuse was outscored in every quarter, posting 12, 14, 18 and finally 14 points in each respective period. The team's field goal percentage was just under one-third of their attempts at approximately 33 percent from the field and an even lower three-point shooting performance at around 15 percent.
The Orange did excel from the free-throw line with an impressive approximate rate of 87 percent but it wasn't enough to close the gap created by North Carolina State's offensive onslaught. In terms of rebounds, Syracuse managed to secure only about half as many as their opponents with a total rebound count of around half that of North Carolina State's.
On defense, both teams recorded one block each. However, Syracuse showed more agility in creating turnovers with eleven steals compared to five by North Carolina State. Unfortunately for them, this did not translate into controlling possession as they ended up turning over the ball ten times themselves.
North Carolina State dominated inside scoring an impressive approximate number of points in paint and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities which were reflected in their higher two-point shooting percentage around two-thirds successful attempts. Their overall field goal accuracy was also notably higher than that of Syracuse at approximately 61 percent.
The Wolfpack also displayed superior passing skills throughout the game totaling nearly double assists than those recorded by Syracuse which contributed significantly to their victory margin.
As fans look ahead for what is next for the Syracuse Orange after this tough loss they can tune into future broadcasts where hopefully they will see improvements on both ends of court leading towards more competitive performances moving forward.
