Syracuse Orange Set to Clash with Arizona Wildcats at Gampel Pavilion

As the Syracuse Orange prepare to face off against the Arizona Wildcats, fans are bracing for what promises to be a riveting encounter at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion. The upcoming game on March 23 is not just another match in the calendar; it's a test of resilience, strategy, and sheer willpower.

The Syracuse Orange have had a rollercoaster season so far. Their recent performance against the Florida State Seminoles on March 9 was less than stellar, with a final score of 65-78. Despite their efforts, they fell short in points in paint and second-chance points, which were critical areas that contributed to their loss. The team's field goal percentage stood at 40 percent and free throw percentage at 63 percent – numbers that need improvement if they hope to dominate against Arizona.

However, it wasn't all gloom for SYR; their defensive play showed promise with five blocks and four steals. This defensive tenacity will be crucial when they go up against ARIZ's offense.

Looking back further into SYR's season provides us with more insights into their capabilities. On February 25th against Pittsburgh Panthers, SYR managed a win scoring 63 points while holding PITT to just 53 points – showcasing their ability to maintain pressure and close out games effectively.

Against NC State Wolfpack on March 1st in an overtime heartbreaker where they lost by just four points (71-75), SYR demonstrated grit and determination that could serve them well in tight situations like the one anticipated against ARIZ.

The Wildcats come into this game with confidence but must not underestimate an Orange squad eager to prove themselves after recent setbacks. ARIZ should particularly watch out for SYR’s three-point attempts which could turn the tide if they start sinking those baskets consistently.

As we look towards this matchup, it is clear that Syracuse needs to capitalize on every opportunity – from fast breaks to turnovers – while shoring up any weaknesses shown in past games such as assists turnover ratio which was notably lower than desired during previous outings.

Fans of Syracuse Orange should mark their calendars for Saturday afternoon excitement as these two teams battle it out on March 23rd at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion located in Storrs, CT. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM EDT and viewers can catch all the action live on ESPN2.
