TCU Horned Frogs Dominate UTEP Miners at McArthur Center in Women's Basketball Showdown

In a commanding performance at the McArthur Center, the TCU Horned Frogs outplayed the UTEP Miners with a final score of 85-56. The Horned Frogs' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Miners face an uphill battle with a record of 0-1.

TCU Horned Frogs VS UTEP Miners

The TCU Horned Frogs showcased their offensive strength by scoring consistently across all four quarters: 18 in the first, followed by 23, 21, and wrapping up with another strong showing of 23 points in the fourth quarter. Their shooting was particularly effective; they achieved a field goal percentage of 51 and were successful on ten three-point attempts for an overall three-point shooting percentage of around 35. Inside scoring was also a key factor for TCU as they racked up an impressive total of 44 points in the paint.

Defensively, TCU maintained pressure throughout the game which is evident from their seven steals and five blocks. They also capitalized on turnovers by scoring 13 points off turnovers. The team's rebounding efforts were notable as well, grabbing a total of 39 rebounds—26 defensive and eight offensive—demonstrating their control over both ends of the court.

On top of that, TCU's passing game was on point with players dishing out a total of twenty assists which contributed to their high field goal percentage and reflected good ball movement against UTEP's defense. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at about two assists for every turnover committed.

The UTEP Miners had moments where they shined especially during the third quarter where they scored nearly half their total points (24). However, it wasn't enough to challenge TCU's lead. The Miners finished with a field goal percentage under thirty-four percent and struggled from beyond the arc making only four three-point shots out of twenty attempted—a mere twenty percent success rate.

Looking ahead to future games, fans can anticipate another exciting matchup as The TCU Horned Frogs are set to face off against Nebraska Cornhuskers on November twenty-fifth at six PM Eastern Time at McArthur Center in St. Petersburg Florida. Fans eager to support The Horned Frogs can catch this encounter live as it unfolds but no broadcast networks have been announced yet for this event.
