Can the Horned Frogs' Dominant Paint Presence Overwhelm Lady Raiders Again?

The TCU Horned Frogs showcased a commanding performance against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders, with a decisive 73-52 victory. The home team's season record now stands at an impressive 15-5, while the visitors fell to a challenging 9-11. Both teams fought hard, but it was the Horned Frogs who consistently outscored their opponents in each quarter.

TCU Horned Frogs VS Texas Tech Lady Raiders

From the opening tip-off at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena, the TCU Horned Frogs established their dominance on both ends of the court. The home team's defensive effort was particularly noteworthy as they racked up an imposing eight blocks throughout the game, effectively stifling many of Texas Tech's scoring attempts. On offense, TCU demonstrated remarkable efficiency inside with a robust 60 percent shooting from two-point range.

The Lady Raiders struggled to find their rhythm against TCU's stout defense. Despite making 11 three-pointers and shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc, they were unable to compensate for their overall field goal percentage of just 29 percent. Their efforts in paint were also overshadowed by TCU's formidable presence where they only managed six points compared to TCU’s dominant 38 points in that area.

TCU also excelled in rebounding with a total of 47 rebounds—27 defensive and an additional offensive haul of 13—which contributed significantly to second-chance opportunities resulting in an additional fifteen points for them. This rebounding clinic was part of why they maintained control throughout all four quarters.

Offensively, Texas Tech could not match up; even though they had a higher assists turnover ratio at approximately two assists per turnover compared to TCU’s ratio which was slightly lower than one and half assists per turnover. The Lady Raiders' free throw accuracy stood out as one bright spot where they shot approximately seventy-one percent from the line but this silver lining wasn't enough to challenge TCU’s lead.

As fans look ahead after this convincing win by their beloved Horned Frogs, attention turns toward future matchups that will test this team’s resolve and skill set further into this exciting season.

Looking forward into what promises to be another competitive game for basketball enthusiasts everywhere; fans can catch all upcoming action when the TCU Horned Frogs face off against West Virginia Mountaineers on March second at WVU Coliseum located in Morgantown via ESPN+ broadcast network starting at one o'clock post meridiem Eastern Time (1:00 PM ET).
