TCU Horned Frogs Set to Battle North Texas Mean Green in Fort Worth Showdown

As the TCU Horned Frogs prepare to host the North Texas Mean Green at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena, fans are eager for what promises to be a gripping encounter. The TCU women's team comes off a series of games that have been nothing short of a roller coaster ride, with performances that have both challenged and showcased their resilience.

TCU Horned Frogs VS North Texas Mean Green

In their last outing on March 9 against the Oklahoma Sooners, TCU fell short despite a valiant effort. Scoring 53 points against the 19th-ranked Sooners was no small feat, especially considering they managed an impressive 15 assists and held their own on the defensive end with three steals. However, shooting at just 29 percent from both the field and beyond the arc proved costly in this high-stakes quarterfinal matchup.

The previous game on March 8 saw TCU edge out a victory over Oklahoma State Cowgirls with a scoreline of 68-66. This was an offensive improvement as they shot better from both two-point (42 percent) and three-point range (39 percent). Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood out at an exceptional 3.4, indicating smart ball movement and decision-making under pressure.

However, it's crucial to note that in their game before these two matchups – against West Virginia Mountaineers on March 2 – TCU struggled significantly with turnovers, giving up possession an alarming 27 times which overshadowed their otherwise solid defensive performance including five blocks.

The upcoming clash will test whether TCU can maintain its composure when handling the ball while also needing to improve its shooting efficiency if it hopes to overcome UNT's challenge. The Mean Green will not make it easy for them; however, playing at home should give TCU some level of comfort as they aim to bounce back from recent setbacks.

Looking ahead optimistically but cautiously is key for fans who hope to see TCU capitalize on home-court advantage come game day. With strategic adjustments focused on reducing turnovers and improving shot selection, there is potential for success against UNT.

The showdown between these two teams is scheduled for March 21 at noon Central Time in Fort Worth's Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. Fans unable or preferring not to attend can catch all the action live where available broadcasts are provided.
