Temple Owls Set to Clash with Memphis Tigers at Liacouras Center in Philadelphia

As the Temple Owls prepare to host the Memphis Tigers at the Liacouras Center, fans are eager for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The upcoming game, scheduled for January 14th, is set against a backdrop of recent performances that offer insights into what can be expected from both teams.

Memphis Tigers VS Temple Owls

The Owls' last home game on December 21st against the Northwestern Wildcats ended in a narrow defeat, with Temple scoring 68 points to Northwestern's 72. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways for the Owls; they out-rebounded their opponents by nine and showed tenacity on defense with eight steals. However, their shooting was lackluster – only making 30 percent of their two-point attempts and shooting just under 31 percent overall from the field.

In contrast, during an away game on December 17th against La Salle Explorers at Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia, Temple showcased its offensive prowess by putting up an impressive 85 points and securing a commanding victory. Their fast-break performance was particularly notable as they scored a whopping 30 points in transition. Additionally, they demonstrated strong defensive capabilities with an outstanding total of sixteen steals.

Another home game worth noting took place on December 15th when Temple faced off against Delaware Fightin Blue Hens at Liacouras Center. The Owls emerged victorious with a score of 72-65. Their three-point shooting was remarkable that night – hitting eight out of fourteen attempts which translates to an exceptional rate of approximately fifty-seven percent from beyond the arc.

The Memphis Tigers come into this matchup as worthy adversaries having shown resilience and skill throughout their season thus far. However, based on recent performances by both teams and considering that Temple will have home-court advantage where they have shown strong form except for one slip-up against Northwestern Wildcats - it seems likely that the Owls will bounce back strongly after their narrow defeat.

Temple's ability to capitalize on turnovers and convert them into fast-break opportunities could be pivotal in overcoming Memphis's defense. Moreover, if they can replicate or even improve upon their three-point shooting accuracy displayed against Delaware Fightin Blue Hens while maintaining solid rebounding numbers as seen in past games – it stands them in good stead for success.

Fans should expect an intense battle where Temple’s defensive pressure could turn the tide if maintained consistently throughout all quarters. With strategic adjustments and execution similar to what led them past La Salle Explorers combined with support from vocal fans at Liacouras Center - there is reason for optimism among Owl supporters.

Mark your calendars: The face-off between Temple University’s own Owls and visiting Memphis Tigers is scheduled for January 14th at seven o'clock PM Eastern Time at Liacouras Center located within Philadelphia city limits; unfortunately no broadcast networks are listed but dedicated fans can always follow live updates or attend in person to witness all action firsthand.
