Tennessee Lady Volunteers Face Off Against Indiana Hoosiers in Women's Basketball at Suncoast Credit Union Arena

The Tennessee Lady Volunteers, ranked 19th, faced a challenging game against the 21st-ranked Indiana Hoosiers at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena. The encounter ended with the Lady Volunteers at 57 and the Hoosiers leading with 71.

The Tennessee team started off slow, scoring only nine points in the first quarter and trailing behind by three. They managed to pick up pace slightly in the second quarter adding twelve more to their score but still found themselves outpaced by a vigorous nineteen-point performance from the Hoosiers. By halftime, it was clear that Tennessee had ground to make up.


In an attempt to close this gap, Tennessee put up fifteen points in the third quarter and pushed further with twenty-one points in their final effort during the fourth quarter. Despite these attempts, they were unable to overcome Indiana's consistent scoring which saw nineteen points added in both of these remaining quarters.


Key statistics for Tennessee included thirty-nine total rebounds with eleven offensive rebounds contributing significantly. Their field goal percentage stood at thirty-six percent while their three-point attempts had a thirty percent success rate. Free throws were another area where they struggled slightly, making five out of nine attempted shots resulting in fifty-six percent accuracy.


On defense, Tennessee managed six steals and two blocks but also gave away sixteen personal fouls over the course of play. They turned over possession eleven times which led to eight points for Indiana off turnovers.


Indiana's performance was marked by higher efficiency on both ends of the court. With forty-two total rebounds and a better shooting percentage overall – forty-four percent from two-point range and an impressive forty-six percent from beyond the arc – they maintained control throughout all four quarters.
