The game, held at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, saw the Lady Volunteers put up a resilient fight throughout all four quarters. They started off trailing with 14 points to South Carolina's 20 in the first quarter but managed to close that gap slightly by halftime. The third quarter saw them add another 16 points to their total, but it was in the final quarter where they really shone by scoring 20 points. Despite their efforts, they were unable to overcome South Carolina's consistent performance across all quarters.

Tennessee's defense was on display as they racked up a total of eight blocks during the game. However, it was not enough to stifle South Carolina's offense which managed five blocks themselves along with eight steals contributing to their victory. The Lady Volunteers also recorded two steals and provided eleven assists over the course of play.

Offensively, Tennessee shot at a rate of 36 percent from field goal range and were more successful from free throw line hitting 73 percent of their shots. They attempted nineteen three-pointers but only succeeded in making four – translating into a three-point shooting percentage of just 21 percent for this encounter.

On rebounds, Tennessee showed strength with forty-one total rebounds; twenty-six being defensive and fifteen offensive which included six team rebounds that contributed significantly to second-chance opportunities resulting in fifteen second-chance points for them.

Despite these efforts by Tennessee Lady Volunteers including scoring twenty-eight points inside paint area and seven off turnovers created by South Carolina Gamecocks – who committed ten turnovers themselves – it wasn't enough as South Carolina capitalized on fast breaks scoring nineteen fast break points compared to thirteen by Tennessee.

As fans look forward towards future games featuring these teams, they can catch upcoming broadcasts where both teams will showcase their skills once again on court aiming for victory without any certainty as what outcome awaits them next time around.
