First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams coming out strong, but it was the Bruins who took an early lead with a score of 26-21. The Lady Vols managed to keep pace thanks to Janiah Barker's impressive shooting performance, contributing significantly with her field goal accuracy.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, the Bruins extended their lead by scoring 23 points compared to Tennessee's 18. Despite efforts from Nya Robertson and Zee Spearman on offense, who combined for several key baskets and assists, the Lady Vols struggled defensively against UCLA's fast break plays.

Third Quarter

The third quarter proved pivotal as UCLA surged ahead with another dominant display by adding 27 points. The Tennessee defense found it difficult to contain UCLA’s inside game as they scored heavily in the paint. Talaysia Cooper tried to rally her team with crucial rebounds and assists but faced challenges due to turnovers.

Fourth Quarter

In the final quarter, both teams scored equally well; however, it was too late for a comeback from Tennessee as they matched UCLA’s output of 21 points each. Mia Pauldo showed resilience by orchestrating plays that led to second-chance opportunities; however, consistent defensive lapses allowed UCLA’s efficient shooting percentage of over 58 percent throughout the game.

Despite this setback in Los Angeles during this non-conference encounter between two ranked teams—Tennessee ranked #14 and UCLA #3—the experience gained will be invaluable moving forward into future games.

Looking ahead for fans eager for more action: The next challenge awaits when Tennessee travels again on December 3rd at Maples Pavilion against Stanford Cardinal scheduled at approximately around evening time (9:15 PM EDT). Catch all live coverage exclusively via ESPN2 network broadcast!
