Texas Longhorns Dominate at Moody Center Against West Virginia Mountaineers

The game at Moody Center in Austin saw the Texas Longhorns take control from the start, setting an aggressive pace with 25 points in the first quarter compared to West Virginia's 14. Despite both teams scoring nine points in the second quarter, it was clear that Texas had established their dominance early on. The third quarter mirrored the first, with another impressive 25-point performance by Texas, while West Virginia managed only 15 points.


The statistics reflect Texas' superiority on court; they made an impressive five out of nine three-point attempts, translating to a remarkable three-point percentage of 56. Their overall field goal percentage stood at a solid 41 percent from their total attempts of 59 shots. Moreover, they excelled at free throws as well, making 21 out of their total attempts for an accuracy rate of approximately 78 percent.


Defensively, Texas was just as dominant; they gathered a total of seven blocks and seven steals throughout the game which contributed significantly to their point tally off turnovers – both teams scored fourteen points off turnovers each. Furthermore, they dominated rebounds with an overwhelming total count of fifty-three compared to twenty-seven by West Virginia.


West Virginia Mountaineers struggled offensively throughout the game; their field goal percentage was only about twenty-seven percent from fifty-six attempts and even though they had better luck beyond the arc with six made threes out of twenty-one attempts (29 percent), it wasn't enough to challenge Texas' lead.
