The Texas Longhorns faced a challenging contest against the Oklahoma Sooners at the Lloyd Noble Center, where they narrowly missed victory with a final score of 70-71. The Longhorns, ranked third nationally, now hold a record of 3-2 while the twentieth-ranked Sooners improved to 2-3.

The game was characterized by intense competition and frequent lead changes, with five occurring throughout the match. Despite falling short in points, the Longhorns showcased robust defensive efforts with seven blocks and eight steals. Their offensive plays were also noteworthy; they achieved an assist-turnover ratio of 0.86 and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 26 points off them.

Texas's performance from inside the paint was formidable as they racked up 32 points in that area. They attempted a total of 47 two-point shots and successfully made 22 of them, resulting in a shooting percentage of around 47 percent from two-point range. From beyond the arc, their three-point attempts were limited to six but managed to convert two into scores.

Free throws played a significant role for Texas as well; out of their total score tally, free throws contributed significantly with players making it to the line for a total of 28 attempts and converting approximately 71 percent into points.

On defense, Texas was relentless under their own basket securing an impressive number of rebounds totaling at thirty – twenty-three being defensive rebounds which helped limit second-chance opportunities for Oklahoma.

Despite these efforts by Texas Longhorns players who fought hard throughout all four quarters scoring consistently – starting strong with twenty-one points in both first and third quarters – it wasn't enough to secure victory over Oklahoma Sooners who edged out by just one point after rallying back from behind especially during second quarter where they scored twenty-eight points.

Looking ahead after this closely contested battle at Norman's Lloyd Noble Center, fans can anticipate another exciting matchup as The Texas Longhorns are set to host Brigham Young University Cougars at Moody Center located in Austin on March second at six PM Central Time. This upcoming game will be broadcasted on LHN network providing fans an opportunity not only witness but also support their team during this home event.
