Tulane Green Wave Narrowly Misses Victory Against Tulsa Golden Hurricane

The Tulane Green Wave, hosting at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse, faced a challenging contest against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The home team's record now stands at 0-1 after a close game that ended with a score of 61-56 in favor of the visitors.


Tulane Green Wave VS Tulsa Golden Hurricane

The Green Wave started strong, matching the Golden Hurricane point for point in the first quarter with both teams securing 12 points each. However, by halftime, Tulane found themselves trailing as Tulsa pulled ahead to lead by nine points. Despite this setback, Tulane showed resilience and outscored their opponents in the third quarter with an impressive 18 points to Tulsa's 20.


Tulane's performance was marked by their ability to capitalize on fast breaks, scoring 14 fast break points compared to Tulsa's six. They also dominated inside the paint with 30 points against Tulsa’s 24 and managed more assists than their opponents with a total of 16 assists throughout the game.


However, turnovers proved costly for Tulane as they gave up possession a total of 20 times which led to them conceding 20 points off turnovers. In contrast, Tulsa maintained better control over the ball with only ten turnovers leading to just eleven points for Tulane.


On defense, both teams were formidable; however, it was Tulsa who edged out slightly with seven blocks and nine steals over Tulane’s five blocks and three steals. The rebound battle was won by Tulane as they collected a total of 42 rebounds - five more than what Tulsa managed.


From beyond the arc, both teams had similar success rates; however,Tulsa attempted nearly twice as many three-pointers (35) compared to Tulane (18), making ten threes at a rate of about thirty-nine percent while Tulane made seven at an identical percentage rate.


Despite these efforts from behind-the-line and within it from players like Delanie Crawford who shined throughout for her team,Tulsa ultimately held onto their lead through consistent scoring across all four quarters – particularly during that crucial second period where they established their advantage.


As fans look forward to future games,Tulsa will be remembered for its solid free throw shooting performance hitting eighty-eight percent from the line while maintaining higher overall field goal efficiency than its counterpart who shot thirty-nine percent from field goals overall including eighty-three percent on free throws which wasn't enough this time around despite being competitive until final buzzer sounded signaling end another conference game where every play counts towards season standings come March Madness time when every win or loss could make difference between making tournament or not so stay tuned next broadcast featuring your favorite college basketball teams!
