Can Tulsa Golden Hurricane Weather the SMU Mustangs at Home?

As the Tulsa Golden Hurricane prepare to host the SMU Mustangs, fans are eager to see if their team can harness the energy of Donald W. Reynolds Center to secure a victory. The upcoming clash promises to be an intriguing one, with both teams looking to assert their dominance on the court.

SMU Mustangs VS Tulsa Golden Hurricane

The Golden Hurricane's recent performances have been a mixed bag, showing both resilience and areas for improvement. In their last game against Wichita State Shockers, they fell short with 65 points against the Shockers' 74. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; they maintained a solid two-point shooting percentage at 50 percent and showed tenacity in defense with eight steals.

However, turnovers have been a thorn in Tulsa's side; they gave up possession 22 times in that game alone. This is an area that will need tightening up if they are to outmaneuver the Mustangs.

In contrast, when facing UTSA Roadrunners at home earlier this month, Tulsa triumphed with 74 points over UTSA's 70. Their field goal percentage was impressive at 50 percent and free throw accuracy stood strong at 72 percent – signs of effective offensive execution.

Yet again though, turnovers were high at 19 for that game as well – indicating consistency issues which could be exploited by SMU if not addressed.

Against Rice Owls away from home turf, Tulsa scored a respectable total of 66 points but conceded defeat with Rice scoring 78 points. While their two-point shooting remained above average at 51 percent and blocks peaked at nine for recent games suggesting strong defensive capabilities – it wasn't enough to clinch victory due largely again to turnovers (17) and lower three-point shooting accuracy (21 percent).

The upcoming match scheduled for March 2nd will test whether Tulsa can leverage its home-court advantage while addressing its turnover woes. Fans can catch all the action live from Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa or tune in from home as these two teams battle it out starting at precisely eight o'clock Central Time on Saturday evening.
