UAB Blazers VS North Texas Mean Green

The UAB Blazers started off matching the intensity of their opponents, ending the first quarter tied at 30 points each. However, as the game progressed, it became evident that maintaining pace with North Texas' scoring would be a formidable task for UAB. Despite shooting an impressive 57 percent from two-point range and converting 76 percent of their free throws, they struggled to contain North Texas' high-powered offense.

North Texas showcased remarkable efficiency on offense throughout all four quarters. They shot 54 percent from the field and an exceptional 58 percent on two-point attempts. Their ability to dominate inside was clear as they racked up a significant 50 points in the paint compared to UAB's 26.

UAB did not back down without a fight; they managed to steal possession five times and blocked two shots over the course of play. They also demonstrated better ball security than North Texas with only six turnovers against nine by their opponents.

One area where UAB excelled was beyond the arc where they made ten three-pointers at a rate of 32 percent; however, this wasn't enough to close down North Texas who had six three-pointers but at a higher accuracy rate of 43 percent.

Rebounding was another aspect where UAB found themselves outmatched – pulling down just one team rebound and twenty-four total rebounds compared to forty-five by North Texas which included fourteen offensive boards leading to twelve second-chance points for them.

The Blazers showed resilience in trying circumstances but ultimately fell short against an opponent that capitalized on every opportunity – evident from their eight points off turnovers and nineteen assists which reflected their cohesive gameplay.

Looking ahead for fans of The University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers is another chance for redemption as they are scheduled to visit Memphis Tigers at Elma Roane Fieldhouse in Memphis on March 2nd at 2:00 PM CT.
