The home game saw the UCLA Bruins take control from the start, outscoring the Knights in every quarter. The first quarter ended with the Bruins leading by 26-9. They maintained their momentum and finished the half ahead by a significant margin. By the end of third quarter, their lead had ballooned to an insurmountable gap with a scoreline of 33-17 for that period alone.

The offensive effort by UCLA was led by their remarkable field goal percentage which stood at nearly fifty percent for both two-pointers and three-pointers combined. Their dominance inside was evident as they racked up an impressive total of 52 points in paint compared to just ten by Bellarmine. Furthermore, fast break opportunities were capitalized on heavily by UCLA resulting in forty fast break points.

Defensively, UCLA also shone brightly with thirteen steals and five blocks contributing to thirty points off turnovers while only giving up three themselves. Their rebounding was equally dominant; they pulled down fifty-seven rebounds including twenty-three offensive boards leading to twenty-five second chance points.

On Bellarmine's side, despite facing tough opposition, they managed twelve three-pointers on thirty-seven percent shooting from beyond the arc and showed resilience at free throw line with seventy-one percent accuracy but struggled overall from field with just under thirty-seven percent shooting.
