Game Highlights


The game was a clear display of UCLA's superior strategy and execution on both ends of the court. From the outset, they took control, leading in every quarter and never allowing the Jaguars any hope of closing in. The Bruins' offense was particularly impressive, shooting 55 percent from field goals and an outstanding 45 percent from beyond the arc. Their defense was equally stifling, with seven blocks and seven steals contributing to a plus-minus rating of 38.


Lauren Betts stood out with her all-around performance for UCLA, scoring 14 points, grabbing six rebounds, and blocking three shots. Kiki Rice also made significant contributions with ten points and seven assists, showcasing her playmaking abilities. Janiah Barker added another double-double to her name with ten points and ten rebounds.


On the other side, despite their efforts, Southern University struggled throughout. They managed only a 32 percent field goal percentage and were particularly ineffective from three-point range at just 13 percent. Their leading moments came sporadically but were quickly overshadowed by UCLA's relentless pressure.
