First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Bruins managed to edge out a slight lead, scoring 18 points compared to the Buckeyes' 16. UCLA's defensive strategy was evident early on as they forced turnovers and converted them into fast-break points.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, UCLA continued to build momentum by increasing their lead with a strong offensive display. They added another 21 points while maintaining pressure on Ohio State's shooters. Lauren Betts played a pivotal role during this period, contributing significantly in rebounds and blocks that thwarted several Buckeye attempts.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was marked by an impressive performance from Kiki Rice, who helped extend UCLA's advantage by scoring crucial baskets and assisting her teammates effectively. The Bruins tallied up 24 points in this period alone, demonstrating their offensive prowess against Ohio State’s defense.

Fourth Quarter

Despite a late surge from the Buckeyes in the fourth quarter where they matched UCLA’s scoring output of 19 points each, it wasn't enough to close the gap created earlier in the game. Angela Dugalić’s presence under the basket ensured that any comeback attempt was kept at bay as she dominated inside play alongside Sienna Betts.

Overall, key game-changing plays for UCLA included dominating rebounds with a total of 47 compared to Ohio State’s 33 and capitalizing on turnovers which led directly into scoring opportunities for them throughout all quarters.
