UNLV Rebels Set to Host New Mexico Lobos at Cox Pavilion in Women's Basketball Showdown

As the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels prepare to face off against the New Mexico Lobos at Cox Pavilion, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying game. The UNLV Rebels have been showing a mix of performances lately, but their recent victory over Fairleigh Dickinson University on December 21st showcased their potential when they play cohesively as a unit.

UNLV Rebels VS New Mexico Lobos

In that game, the Rebels scored 71 points with an impressive free throw percentage of 100 and a solid two-point field goal percentage of around 55. Their ability to score in the paint was notable, racking up 44 points. However, it wasn't just their offense that shone; defensively they managed to pull down a total of 38 rebounds and kept turnovers low at eight.

Comparing this performance with their less stellar outing against Seton Hall on December 16th where they scored only 54 points and had a lower field goal percentage overall highlights some inconsistency in their gameplay. Turnovers were high at sixteen which undoubtedly contributed to the loss.

Yet, it's important not to overlook UNLV's explosive performance against Oklahoma on December 9th where they dominated with an impressive scoreline of 92-76. Their field goal percentage was exactly half which is quite efficient for basketball standards and again showed prowess from inside by scoring most points in the paint.

The upcoming match against UNM will certainly test UNLV's resolve and consistency. The Lobos come into this game with their own set of skills but if UNLV can harness the energy from their high-scoring games and tighten up defensively as they did against FDU, there is every reason for Rebel fans to expect a victory.

The key for UNLV will be maintaining focus throughout all quarters and minimizing turnovers while exploiting any weaknesses in the Lobos' defense. If they can replicate or even improve upon past performances where they've shown excellent shooting accuracy especially within close range then success should follow.

Fans eagerly awaiting this matchup should mark January 20th on their calendars when these two teams clash at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas at 5:00 PM local time (PST). For those unable to attend in person, details regarding broadcast networks or streaming services have yet to be announced but stay tuned for updates as game day approaches.
