UNLV Rebels Set to Clash with Colorado State Rams at Cox Pavilion

As the UNLV Rebels prepare to host the Colorado State Rams at Cox Pavilion, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an enthralling encounter. The Rebels, coming off a mixed bag of performances, have shown they can light up the scoreboard and dictate the pace of a game.

Colorado State Rams VS UNLV Rebels

In their last outing on December 21 against Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, UNLV showcased their offensive prowess by putting up 71 points. Their scoring was consistent across all quarters, demonstrating a well-distributed offensive effort. A remarkable feat from that game was their free-throw accuracy – hitting an astounding 100 percent from the line. This level of precision could be pivotal in close encounters.

However, it wasn't just about scoring; UNLV also displayed tenacity on defense with five steals and a commendable number of defensive rebounds (26). Their ability to convert turnovers into points was evident as they scored 17 points off turnovers against FDU.

Despite these strengths, there's room for improvement when it comes to three-point shooting. With only a 21 percent success rate from beyond the arc in their last game, sharpening this aspect could give them an edge over CSU.

The Rebels' performance against Seton Hall Pirates on December 16 highlighted some concerns though. They suffered defensively allowing 84 points and were outrebounded significantly (44 rebounds by Seton Hall compared to UNLV's 25). The team will need to tighten up defensively and improve on their rebounding if they want to contain CSU's offense.

On another positive note, looking back at December 9 against Oklahoma Sooners shows that when UNLV is firing on all cylinders they can be unstoppable – racking up an impressive total of 92 points. Dominance in paint was key here with them scoring more than half of those points inside.

The upcoming clash will require UNLV's players to synergize that high-scoring offense with a more robust defensive effort if they are going to come out on top against Colorado State Rams who are known for being competitive adversaries.

Fans should expect ULRV’s players like those who performed exceptionally well in previous games - contributing both offensively and defensively - will need once again step up big time if victory is within sight.

Mark your calendars for February 14th as this matchup promises excitement and intensity right here in Las Vegas at Cox Pavilion starting at 6:30 PM local time (PST).
