Utah State Aggies Set to Challenge UNLV Rebels at Cox Pavilion

As the Utah State Aggies prepare to face off against the UNLV Rebels, fans are looking forward with anticipation to what promises to be an engaging contest. The upcoming game scheduled for December 30th at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas will test the mettle of the Aggies, who have shown both resilience and areas needing improvement in their recent performances.

Utah State Aggies VS UNLV Rebels

In their last game on December 19th against Western Colorado Mountaineers, the Aggies narrowly missed a win with a final score of 49-51. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; notably, they outrebounded their opponents by four and showed tenacity on defense with four blocks and five steals. However, shooting was a concern as they only hit 27 percent from the field and an underwhelming 19 percent from beyond the arc.

The previous encounter with Northern Colorado Bears on December 17th highlighted similar issues. The Aggies managed a higher field goal percentage of 43 but still fell short in three-point accuracy at just 17 percent. Turnovers were also problematic as they gave up possession nineteen times which translated into points for their opponents.

A look further back to December 9th when USU visited Utah Valley Wolverines reveals that turnovers have been a recurring issue for USU; they committed twenty-four in that game alone. While defensive efforts like six steals and four blocks are commendable, it's clear that ball security needs tightening up if they're going to come out on top against UNLV.

The Rebels will not make it easy for them; any team playing at home has an inherent advantage not just from familiar surroundings but also from crowd support energizing players during critical moments of play.

For USU fans hoping for victory, attention must be paid to improving shot selection and reducing turnovers while maintaining aggressive defense without fouling excessively – personal fouls have been another area where discipline is required.

As we approach tip-off time at Cox Pavilion on December 30th at precisely 2:00 PM Mountain Time (MT), all eyes will be on whether USU can execute these adjustments effectively. Fans unable or unwilling to make the trip can catch all the action live nationally on CBS Sports Network channel number two hundred twenty-one where every pass, dribble, shot could potentially swing momentum in this exciting matchup between Utah State Aggies and UNLV Rebels.
