Virginia Cavaliers Set to Host Fordham Rams at John Paul Jones Arena in Women's Basketball Showdown

In their last game on December 7 against Rider Broncs, UVA dominated with a convincing 78-51 victory. Their offense was firing on all cylinders as they shot 38 percent from the field and an impressive 65 percent from the free-throw line. The team also showcased its defensive prowess by grabbing a total of 60 rebounds and stealing the ball 12 times, which contributed significantly to their fast break points tally of 17.

The Cavaliers' ability to control both ends of the court has been a key factor in their success. They've demonstrated strong second-chance scoring abilities, putting up an impressive 26 points against Rider Broncs. This relentless pursuit of offensive boards could prove vital against Fordham Rams.

On December 3, UVA faced La Salle Explorers away from home and emerged victorious with a high-scoring display that ended at 94-73. Their shooting accuracy was notable as they hit nearly 46 percent from the field while maintaining an exceptional free throw percentage of 92 – numbers that can intimidate any opponent.

However, it would be unwise to underestimate Fordham Rams who will come into this game looking for an upset. While statistics favor UVA heavily based on past performances, basketball is unpredictable by nature.

Looking back at November's nail-biter where UVA edged out Missouri Tigers in overtime with an exhilarating scoreline of 87-81 shows that Virginia knows how to handle pressure situations. That resilience will be crucial if Fordham manages to keep things close down the stretch.

Fans should expect UVA's players to come out aggressive early on both ends of the floor as they look to establish dominance quickly in front of their home crowd. With such depth and versatility at hand for Virginia Cavaliers coach Tina Thompson, strategies will likely revolve around exploiting mismatches and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities created by their tenacious defense.

The scheduled tip-off is set for December 21 at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville; unfortunately for those unable to attend in person, no broadcast networks have been announced yet for this matchup. Nonetheless, loyal supporters won't want to miss what promises to be another exciting chapter in Virginia Cavalier’s season as they aim for another win under their belt before heading into conference play.
