Can Virginia Cavaliers Continue Their Momentum at Hank McCamish Pavilion?

As the Virginia Cavaliers prepare to face off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Hank McCamish Pavilion, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain the positive trends observed in recent games. The Cavaliers have shown a mix of results in their past performances, with a notable victory against Fordham where they dominated with 82 points and an impressive 53 percent field goal percentage. This game also showcased their ability to convert on fast breaks, scoring 36 points, and their strong defensive play resulting in nine steals.

However, consistency has been an issue for the Cavaliers as seen in their narrow loss to Wofford by just one point. Despite outrebounding Wofford and shooting a solid 53 percent from two-point range, they struggled beyond the arc with only a 17 percent success rate for three-pointers. Turnovers were also problematic as they matched Wofford's total of 18.

The most recent game against North Carolina State's Wolfpack highlighted areas that need improvement; particularly shooting accuracy was low with only a 28 percent field goal percentage and a mere 26 percent from two-point attempts. Although they managed to block eight shots and steal five times from NCST, it wasn't enough to secure victory.

As we look ahead to the upcoming game on January 5th at Atlanta's Hank McCamish Pavilion, it is crucial for Virginia to capitalize on its strengths while addressing weaknesses such as perimeter shooting and ball handling under pressure. The venue has been known for its energetic atmosphere which could play into Georgia Tech's favor; however, if Virginia can harness this energy positively and execute with precision as demonstrated against Fordham, there is potential for another strong performance.

Fans can catch this exciting matchup live on January 5th at Hank McCamish Pavilion or tune in from home to support the Cavaliers as they seek another win on the road.
